I started researching other topics think are current within the industry. I think food and size is probably one of the biggest controversies that is argued over constantly. Looking at some of Richardson's work I found a shoot I really liked the narrative of. The photos were such a bold statement, with the bold colours and the vulgar foods becoming quite sickening to the viewer. As i found out moe about the model (Crystal Renn) it became apparent the photographs may have underlying meanings that we don't see at first sight. Crystal Renn at a size ten is considered a plus size model. Under scrutiny about this she has fluctuated in size. As you learn this you can see there are deeper meaning under those photographs. I think they show actually what the media has made her to be. From this I wanted to do my own similar shoot, in the style of my make up shoots previously. I furthered my research and chose some different topics to choose. I feel some of the other current struggles for women lie in there appearance but more than just make up, I wanted to focus on hair and how important that is to a perfect look. Also the use of plastic surgery and how that is an option to get women to feel what society says is perfect. When looking into where magazines have inputted plastic surgery into there magazines I again found some work from Vogue with some extremely hard hitting photographs of ladies with plastic surgery. It was something interesting to me because the women are shown in glamorous clothes, does this then show women with plastic surgery as being glamorous? These sort of questions is exactly what I wanted to explore in my photographs. The scariest thing about these plastic surgery shoots were out of complete coincidence the were of Renn too; this is again not giving off that her size is something to be proud of but actually something that needs moulding and shaping.
