Development Two

From here I started physically writing on the photographs to show what I would airbrush or edit. I did this to explore more ideas just than normal airbrushing and how magazines take an initial photograph and edit to an extreme that they would think to be the perfect woman. Personally this comes across to me as idolising the wrong things in the media and giving women and young girls a false image of what they should be.
I picked a quite high contrast photograph as I could pick out imperfections from the highlighted side but also the shadowed side. Also details are bought out within the shadowing like the black under her eyes but also the crinkle in her lips. I wanted to demonstrate the point that through the manipulation of imagery, women are pressurised into looking a certain way. This makes women aspire to a misguided representation of 'woman't by selling them something false.
I find they three most misunderstood areas within the industries advertisement to be age, weight and sexualisation. I believe all these things are manipulated to give a woman a un realistic image to compare themselves to.
